St Pancras Chambers

The resplendent Grade I listed former Midland Grand Hotel dates from 1873-1876 and is by the renowned architect George Gilbert Scott. Having first worked there back in 1998, we returned in 2004 as part of the team involved in the huge restoration project.
We were invited to assess the nature and extent of damage to the internal historic plasterwork within over 700 rooms, producing detailed specifications for tender purposes. Following this we acted as consultants for repairs to the historic fabric and provided further condition surveys, as well as a weekly appraisal of the work undertaken by other contractors.

In 2010 we completed the restoration of the Lounge Bar, including the re-instatement of the elaborately painted ceiling after it had been destroyed by a fire in 2007. During the restoration, Elizabeth appeared with Dr Jonathan Foyle in Climbing Great Buildings (BBC2).
