Appointment of Karen Morrissey ACR in the role of Conservation Manager

We are delighted to announce that Karen Morrissey has re-joined the Hirst Conservation team in the role of Conservation Manager. Many of you will know that Karen was previously with us for 15 years.  Karen will now be working with the company’s directors and team of specialist conservators, delivering consistently outstanding conservation projects.

Karen is a highly experienced historic building conservator and architectural paint research specialist, with many years of experience in preventive and practical building conservation and applied decoration. Karen’s enthusiasm and passion for informed architectural conservation is recognised across the conservation community; her reputation as a dedicated and personable consultant reflects the quality of her work and is acknowledged by her accreditation to the Institute of Conservation (Icon).

Karen is particularly interested in the conservation of cultural heritage and the application of conservation ethics. She is actively involved in outreach, including delivery of one-day workshops and acting as a PACR mentor for Icon. She is the current events secretary for the Traditional Paint Forum.
